Plate Beamsplitters are a type of Beamsplitter used in many life science, imaging, or laser applications. Plate Beamsplitters are used to split incident light into two separate components. When positioned at a 45° angle of incidence, a portion of the light striking the Plate Beamsplitter is transmitted, while another portion is reflected.

Edmund Optics offers a wide variety of Beamsplitters, including Plate Beamsplitters designed for Ultraviolet (UV), Visible, or Infrared (IR) applications. Ultraviolet (UV) Plate Beamsplitters are ideal for applications including fluorescence imaging, forensics, or spectroscopy. Infrared (IR) Plate Beamsplitters are used in many broadband Infrared (IR) applications. Polka-Dot Beamsplitters, which are not angular sensitive, are ideal for use in the Ultraviolet (UV) to Medium Wave Infrared (MWIR). Pellicle Beamsplitters utilize nitrocellulose membranes, providing superior resistance to mechanical shock or climate variations. Laser line Plate Beamsplitters, which feature high damage thresholds, are ideal for demanding laser applications. Laser line Plate Beamsplitters are available for many popular laser wavelengths.
