IEEE-1394 Cables are available in 6-to-6 pin, 6-to-4 pin, 9-to-9 pin, and 9-to-6 pin versions for various FireWire devices. 1X Interlock cables have a screw lock on the camera end of the cable to secure the cable from accidental removal. 2X Interlock cables have screw locks at both ends.

The PCI FireWire.a card is a single bus card, and the PCI FireWire.a Dual card offers Dual FireWire busses for increased performance with multiple cameras. Both cards are for 32 bit port computers. The PCI-X is a single bus FireWire.b card for computers with 32 or 64 bit PCI-X ports. The PCI-E and PCI-E Dual are FireWire.b single and dual bus card adaptors for PCI Express 32 and 64 bit ports.
