Nonlinear Crystals

Nonlinear Crystals are used for nonlinear frequency conversion of laser sources to achieve wavelengths that otherwise would not be directly possible as a laser output. This includes the second, third, and fourth harmonic generation (SHG and THG) of lasers, such as the generation of the commonly used 532nm, 515nm, 400nm, 355nm, 343nm, and 266nm [SW1] harmonics of Ti:Sapphire, Yb:doped, and Nd:YAG lasers.

Edmund Optics offers lithium triborate (LBO) and β-barium borate (BBO) Nonlinear Crystals for the harmonic generation of lasers commonly used, including Nd:YAG, Yb:YAG, Yb:doped and Ti:Sapphire. Nonlinear Crystals feature a protective coating that lowers reflection, protects against laser damage, and prevents fogging from ambient conditions. Nonlinear Crystals are also available in custom wavelengths and sizes.
