Edmund Optics® wins Inspect Award for the 4th year in a row – 3rd place for new CA Series Lenses

Inspect, an imaging and machine vision magazine from the Wiley publishing house, awards these honors on a yearly basis. After the magazine compiles a short list of the most innovative products from the submissions, readers select the product they find most trendsetting. This year, Edmund Optics submitted their new CA Series Fixed Focal Length Lenses, which are designed for Sony’s new APS-C sensors. They offer a TFL-mount, which is significantly more robust and stable than a T-mount while still covering large full-frame sensor formats and making them more suitable for industrial applications. Also, TFL-mounts allow for a more compact lens design when compared to F- or M42-mounts. Dr. Boris Lange, Manager of Imaging for Europe, states, “Edmund Optics always listens to market trends and its customers and the CA Lenses are a result of the latest development. This innovative product convinced Inspect readers with its robust, compact, and standardized design applicable for the new APS-C sensor format with 28mm diagonal. TFL-mount can be considered the “big brother” of the well-established C-mount for smaller sensor formats as it has an M35 x 0.75 thread and a flange focal distance of 17.526mm. The TFL-mount is standardized by the Japan Industrial Imaging Association (JIIA), which enables system designers and integrators to use and combine components from multiple suppliers without comparing technical details.
