Product Details

  • Twice as Hard as Germanium
  • >70% Average Transmission in 8-12μm Wavelength Range
  • Excellent Alternative to Ge for LWIR Applications
  • Available In Sizes Up To 76.2mm Diameter

DLC Coated Silicon (Si) Windows for Thermal Imaging feature a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating on one surface of a precision Si substrate and an AR coating on the other, making them well-suited for use as protective windows in harsh environments. Conforming to both the MIL-F-48616 and MIL-C-48497C environmental standards, these windows have excellent performance in the LWIR range, with an average transmission of >70% from 8-12μm. Featuring exceptional hardness and scratch resistance DLC Coated Silicon (Si) Windows for Thermal Imaging are highly resistant to abrasion and impact, well suited for high-temperature use, and are an ideal alternative to Germanium. These windows have high thermal conductivity for heat dissipation and a maximum safe operating temperature of 200°C. Common applications for these windows include thermography, medical imaging, surveillance, furnace inspection, and process control.
